Kind Spirit, fill me with humility, simplicity, and inner freedom. Give me the ability to let go of anything to which I am clinging too tightly, and a willingness to endure challenges for the sake of serving you.

Option 1:
Spend some time praying and reflecting on the “Meditation on the Two Standards” and the “Three Types of People Meditation.” Recall that the first one helps us to consider the contrast between two authorities, that of Jesus and that of the evil spirit. The second one helps us to consider degrees of inner freedom, and the reality that we need freedom from inordinate attachments to be truly open to making decisions that honor God. Where are you at? Be specific.

Option 2:
Scripture: John 21:15-23
Reflection: The Second Week is a reversal of the ways we have denied our created purpose. Or in other words, how we have denied Christ. For the three times Peter denied Jesus, Jesus asked him “Do you love me?” Spend some time on this passage and what it means for your life. In what concrete ways in daily life do you deny Jesus? In what concrete ways do you love him?

Option 3:
Contemplate the “Three Kinds of Humility

Option 4:
Read and reflect on “Decision Making in Mode 1: ‘No Doubt about It” and “Decision Making in Mode 2: Spiritual Movements.”[1]

Option 5:
Read and reflect on “Decision Making in Mode 3: Calm Deliberation.”[2]

Option 6:
Reflection: What concrete decisions are on the horizon for you? Spend some time journaling or drawing about these potential decisions.

Reviewing the Week:
Look back on the past week. What stands out as you have considered what it means to make decisions to follow Christ in daily life? Talk with God about your reflections. Close with “O God, What Offering Shall I Give?
